The Y.E.S Project
The Y.E.S Project brings exciting and engaging Street Dance sessions and opportunities across Sussex.
DanceHub CIC has been successful in securing funding from Arts Council England (ACE), Active Sussex, National Lottery, Crawley Borough Council, Hastings Borough Council, Police Crime Commissioner, Postcode Society Trust and Sussex Community Foundation to deliver our large scale outreach programme: The Y.E.S Project (Youth Empowered by StreetDance).
These partnerships allow us to set up Community Y.E.S Projects where we target young people from deprived or difficult circumstances, particularly those who are inactive and not engaged by traditional sport or physical activity.
Alongside our Community Y.E.S Projects, we’re established in various schools where we support in-school and after school enrichment activities where students learn fun new moves with the opportunity to work towards performance projects such as Let’s Dance.
The sessions are delivered by our dynamic team of experienced and professional teachers who also support young people with their leadership skills, confidence and wellbeing.
The Y.E.S Project goes one step further with supporting leadership through providing a pathway for its students to attend DanceHub’s delivery of the Leadership Skills Foundation Course. In this course young people have the opportunity to receive a qualification that enables successful learners to gain a range of skills that will enable them to assist to lead purposeful and enjoyable dance activity sessions, under indirect supervision.
