Youth Voice

DanceHub have successfully set up a youth voice group, that meet regularly, in both Crawley and Brighton. These groups are formed of Y.E.S project students and dance leaders aged 11-17. Within these meetings we discuss; how young people feel about their local dance community, the direction of and how they would like to shape their Y.E.S project sessions and, in Crawley, the young people are currently focussing on planning fundraising events to help sustain their local Y.E.S Projects and dance leaders qualifications.  Within these sessions we often aim to encourage other creative skills such as designing social media content and logos. The Y.E.S Project (powered by DanceHub) aims to include listening to youth voice in every step of its journey and this group is the first step to enabling young people to take the lead.
